Biltmore Estate
Built by George Vanderbilt in the late
19th century, America’s largest private
home, the 255-room Biltmore House still
contains its original collection of
50,000 furnishings, artwork and
antiques. The Biltmore Estate in
Asheville is an
experience set apart from the rest of

Located on US 25, just north of I-40.
Open daily 9 am to 5 pm, except

Blue Ridge Parkway
Considered the nation’s most scenic
highway, the 470-mile roadway winds
through the Blue Ridge Mountains,
through Asheville and into the entrance
of the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park. Numerous overlooks, roadside
exhibits and hiking trails make a trip
along the Parkway a delight year-round. |

Spend the day in the historic settings
of Black Mountain with overflows of art
and craft galleries, art studios,

Chimney Rock Park
Take the elevator or the stairs up to
this 500 million year old rock where you
can see for 75 miles. Hike the trails to
the 404 ft. waterfall, pack a picnic
lunch or enjoy dining and shopping in
Chimney Rock Village below.

from Asheville). Hours: Ticket Plaza
open year-round 8:30 am to 4:30 pm EST.
Park stays open 1½ hours later than
Ticket Plaza. Allow 1 hour to all day.

Raft the French Broad River
Ducky and raft one of the world's oldest
rivers! The French Broad's playful
rapids will carry you through a lush
valley with panoramic views. Typical
summer and fall trips feature a
combination of ducks and rafts to make
the most fun of low water. At higher
water usually in the spring enjoy guide
assisted rafts. Other area rafting trips
include the Nantahala, the Pigeon , the
Chattooga, the Ocoee and the Nolichucky
